The Air Jordan 13 was a product of years of yearning, of craving, of subliminal attraction, and of inspiration itself. And, when Tinker Hatfield was able to compile all of his creative brainstorming, the product would be as unique as it was effective. Tinker Hatfield often compared Jordan’s moves on the court to that of a cat. Ironically, Jordan’s friends often referred to him as “the black cat” for many of the same reasons. Great minds make great shoes, right? The shoes were originally released with options for five midway colors and two low way colors. The shoe also boasted a panther’s eye hologram on the upper, and the lower part of the shoe was meant to look like a paw. Jordan wore the black colorways on the road and the white ones while playing at home. In addition to its cat like design, the Jordan 13 is said to be one of the most comfortable shoes in the Jordan line. This can be attested to its Python midsole and its heel and forefoot Zoom Air. It was in these shoes that Michael Jordan broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA record by scoring double-digits for the 788th consecutive game.
